Soap Making Workshop, June 5
Learn to make your own bars of soap at our farm in Omaha, Nebraska! This hands-on workshop is an introductory course to making both cold and hot process soap from scratch. We will discuss all of the supplies needed, safety procedures, basic soap recipes, and then dive into both cold and hot process soap making together. Workshop space is limited; get an automatic $10 discount when registering 2 + participants. Further details are below:
Time and location:
June 5th, 6-8 PM at 6915 Evans Street
What to expect:
Outdoor workshop: soap making, farm tour, and complimentary tea
Long sleeves and closed toed shoes encouraged for both soap making and walking around the garden
All materials provided, including safety equipment such as apron, gloves and glasses provided
Tutorial hand-out provided, feel free to bring a notebook and pen as well!
Take home 1.5 lb of soap we make together during the workshop; soap variety will be one of our farm’s unscented and exfoliating wildflower soaps
Workshop instructor: Michelle, has ~8 years of soap making experience
Accessibility:
This workshop takes place outdoors on gravel and/or mulched surfaces; some ground is uneven
Accessible parking is available in the driveway; plenty of street parking available
Table and chairs provided; workshop takes place in mostly shaded area
Please note that the only restroom facility on-site is a portable toilet
To register, select the number of participants desired; keep ‘quantity’ at 1 unless you are adding more than 2 individuals. A friendly reminder email with further details is sent the week of the course! We will cancel (and refund) this outdoor workshop if there is inclement weather or severe temps in the forecast. Also, due to the equipment and set up, this workshop requires at least 5 participants to host.
